Creating Short Links

Short links let you create memorable, trackable URLs that redirect to any destination.

Create a URL Link

1. Go to Links → Create Link in the sidebar
2. Enter the Destination URL — the full URL you want to shorten
3. Enter a Short Code — this becomes flnk.it/your-code
   • The system checks availability in real-time
   • Click the shuffle button to generate a random code
   • Minimum length depends on your plan (5-6 characters)
4. Optionally add a Title for easy identification
5. Click Create Link

Create a File Link

File links let you share downloadable files via a short URL.

1. Go to Links → Create File Link
2. Upload a file (size limit depends on your plan)
3. Set a short code and title
4. The short URL will serve the file as a download

QR Code per Link

Every link can optionally have a QR code:

1. Toggle Generate QR Code on
2. Customise the foreground and background colours
3. Optionally add a logo (URL or browse from My Files)
4. Click Preview QR Code to see it before saving

UTM Parameters

Expand the UTM Parameters section to add campaign tracking:

• Source — e.g., newsletter, twitter
• Medium — e.g., email, social
• Campaign — e.g., spring-sale
• Term and Content — for further segmentation

UTM parameters are automatically appended to the destination URL when someone clicks your link.

Interstitial Messages

Available on paid plans (no ads)

Show a custom message before redirecting:

1. Enter your message text (up to 1,000 characters)
2. Choose the redirect behaviour:
   • Countdown — auto-redirects after 3-60 seconds
   • Button Click — visitor clicks a button to proceed

Expiration

Set an optional expiration date. After this date, the link will no longer redirect.

Tags

Add tags to organise your links. Tags are shared across links, QR codes, and pages. You can filter by tags on the Dashboard.
