Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about accepting payments with FastLinkIt.

How do I start accepting payments?

Sign up for a free FastLinkIt account, connect your Stripe account from the dashboard, and create your first payment product. You'll get a checkout link you can share anywhere — on your website, in emails, or on social media. For WordPress users, just paste the [fastlinkit_pay] shortcode into any page or post.

What does it cost?

FastLinkIt has a free tier with no monthly fees. You only pay Stripe's standard processing fees plus a small platform commission on each transaction. There are no setup fees, no hidden charges, and no minimum commitments. Paid plans unlock higher limits, more currencies, and advanced features like webhooks and source tracking.

Which currencies are supported?

FastLinkIt supports 14+ currencies through Stripe, including GBP, USD, EUR, CAD, AUD, JPY, CHF, SEK, NOK, DKK, PLN, CZK, HUF, and BRL. You set the currency per product or donation widget, so you can sell in your customers' local currency.

Do I need a Stripe account?

Yes. Payments are processed through Stripe Connect, which means money goes directly to your Stripe account. If you don't have one, you can create a free Stripe account during the onboarding process — it takes just a few minutes and Stripe guides you through every step.

Can I accept donations with custom amounts?

Absolutely. The donation widget lets you offer preset amount buttons (e.g. £5, £10, £25, £50) and a custom amount input where visitors type any amount they like. You can set a minimum and maximum, add an optional name and message field, and customise the button colour and text to match your site.

How do I add a payment button to WordPress?

Install the FastLinkIt WordPress plugin, enter your API key in the settings, and use the [fastlinkit_pay] shortcode for fixed-price products or [fastlinkit_donate] for donations. You can customise currency, amount, button text, and colour directly in the shortcode attributes. The plugin handles checkout, success messages, and webhook notifications automatically.

How do refunds work?

You can issue full or partial refunds directly from the transaction dashboard. Refunds are processed through Stripe with automatic transfer reversal and application fee refund. The transaction status updates in real time, and if you have webhooks configured, a payment.refunded event is sent to your endpoint.

Is it secure?

Yes. All payments are processed by Stripe, which is PCI DSS Level 1 certified — the highest level of security in the payments industry. FastLinkIt never sees or stores card details. Webhook notifications are signed with HMAC-SHA256 so you can verify every callback. All communication uses HTTPS/TLS encryption.

How do fundraising campaigns work?

Create a campaign from the dashboard or directly from WordPress with a title, description, target amount, and suggested donation amounts. Each campaign gets a shareable short link and an embeddable widget with a progress bar showing how much has been raised. Donors can pick a preset amount or enter a custom one, add their name and a message, and pay via Stripe Checkout. The campaign page updates in real time as donations come in. Campaigns are available on all plans, including Free.

Do donors and buyers receive confirmation emails?

Yes. Every successful payment automatically sends a branded confirmation email to the buyer or donor. The email includes your logo, the amount paid, product or campaign name, and a receipt reference. No templates to configure — it works out of the box. If a confirmation email needs to be resent, you can do so from the transaction dashboard with a single click.

Can I embed a fundraising campaign on WordPress?

Yes. Use the [flnkit_fundraise] shortcode with a campaign short code to embed a full campaign widget — progress bar, suggested amounts, custom amount input, and Stripe checkout — directly on any page or post. You can also create and manage campaigns from the WordPress admin without leaving your site, pick images from your Media Library, and choose a compact form size for sidebars using the size="small" attribute.
